What's New in LOGO! Soft Comfort V9

The engineering software received a full update alongside the hardware.

1 Plug and Play via USB Stick

No more DVD-ROM. Plug in the USB stick and go — includes installation files for all supported operating systems.

2 Cross-Platform Support

Runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux — including both Apple Silicon (ARM) and Intel Mac architectures.

3 Integrated LOGO! Web Editor
Programming, simulation, and web visualization in one tool. No need to switch between separate applications.
4 Full Backward Compatibility
Existing LOGO! programs convert and transfer cleanly. Protect prior engineering work when moving to LOGO! 9.

The New LOGO! TDE - More Visibility at the Machine

The LOGO! 9 Base Module already includes a built-in color touchscreen, but for applications that need more real estate directly at the machine, the new LOGO! TDE delivers a 4.3" color touch display (480×272 px) with image support, freely configurable message texts, and custom branding for a professional OEM look.

It connects to the LOGO! 9 Basic Module via secure, encrypted communication and is engineered and simulated entirely within LOGO! Soft Comfort V9 — no separate tool required.

Key specs at a glance

    • Display — 4.3" resistive color touch display, 480×272 px resolution
    • Ethernet — 2 ports for flexible installation in networked environments
    • Image support — images and freely configurable message texts
    • Communication — secure, encrypted connection to LOGO! 9 Basic Module
    • Engineering — configured and simulated in LOGO! Soft Comfort V9
    • Custom Branding — OEMs can apply corporate identity directly on the display

Note: the LOGO! TDE is designed specifically for LOGO! 9 and is not compatible with previous LOGO! generations.

Migrating from LOGO! 8?

Your programs come with you — LOGO! Soft Comfort V9 converts existing LOGO! programs so you're not starting from scratch.

Hardware is a different story. LOGO! 8 digital and analog expansion modules are not compatible with LOGO! 9 Base Modules and will need to be replaced. Communication modules can be reused.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LOGO! 9 and what applications is it designed for? LOGO! 9 is a compact logic module for small, standalone automation tasks — switching, timing, counting, monitoring, and basic visualization. Typical applications include pump control, lighting control, ventilation, door and gate control, small machines, and basic building automation. It combines logic control, integrated Ethernet connectivity, a color touch display, web-based monitoring, and scalable I/O in one compact system.

How do I connect LOGO! 9 to other systems? LOGO! 9 supports Modbus TCP/IP and MQTT natively, making it straightforward to exchange data with other systems or higher-level applications. The integrated web server also enables browser-based monitoring and visualization without a separate HMI or gateway in many small applications. For larger automation networks requiring PROFINET IO or TIA Portal-based engineering, a SIMATIC controller is the better fit.

What additional expansion modules are coming? Additional LOGO! 9 expansion modules are planned for 2027, including further LOGO! DM8 and LOGO! DM16 variants, plus analog modules such as the LOGO! AM2 RTD and LOGO! AM4 AQ. Check with EandM for the latest availability.

Is LOGO! 9 compatible with my existing LOGO! 8 hardware? Programs transfer cleanly using LOGO! Soft Comfort V9. However, LOGO! 8 digital and analog expansion modules are not hardware-compatible with LOGO! 9 Base Modules — those will need to be replaced. Communication modules can be reused.

When is LOGO! 9 available? It's been orderable since April 17, 2026, with deliveries underway as of May 2026.

Do I need a new TDE for LOGO! 9? Yes. The new LOGO! TDE is designed specifically for LOGO! 9 and is not compatible with previous generations.

Is LOGO! 9 or SIMATIC the right fit for my application? LOGO! 9 is built for compact, standalone applications — pump control, lighting, ventilation, door and gate control, small machines, and basic building automation. If your application requires PROFINET IO, motion control, fail-safe functions, or TIA Portal-based engineering, SIMATIC is the better fit.

Can LOGO! 9 connect to cloud platforms? Yes. LOGO! 9 supports MQTT over TLS for AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud connections, along with an integrated web server for browser-based monitoring — no separate HMI or gateway required for many small applications.

What's the difference between the LOGO! 9 Base Module and the LOGO! TDE? The Base Module with display has a built-in 320×240 px color touchscreen for local operation. The LOGO! TDE is a separate 4.3" display (480×272 px) with two Ethernet ports and four virtual function keys — for applications that need more visibility or control directly at the machine.

Does LOGO! Soft Comfort V9 work on Mac? Yes. V9 supports Windows, macOS, and Linux. The notable addition in V9 is Linux support, along with the integrated LOGO! Web Editor — now built directly into the software rather than being a separate tool.
